"I was about to be reunited with my two small children and there was an urgency to get them into childcare. I called The Barrio Logan Development Center and talked to Yesenia. I explained my situation and she was beyond helpful from the first phone call. At the time we were living in shelters while trying to obtain permanent housing. This was a very stressful and scary time for myself and my children. Chicano Federation gave us a sense of belonging and gave the children a healthy routine. During one of the hardest parts of our life Chicano Federation, Logan Development Center offered us kindness and understanding. Now after finding the Chicano Federation I am working part time and attending City College full time. The children are starting sports and thriving in all areas of life."
